Zimbabwe's government has announced that it will seek public feedback on how to regulate cryptocurrencies. According to Bloomberg, the government has embarked on an investigation to understand and appreciate the cryptocurrency industry. "In line with global trends, the government of Zimbabwe has embarked on an investigation to understand and appreciate the cryptocurrency industry," the government said in a statement. "We, therefore, invite stakeholders to provide input on the provision of crypto asset services within the country." Feedback is being requested by the end of day, May 26, 2023. In addition, as part of the investigation and assessment, the government has set up a committee to engage with cryptocurrency ecosystem players. This move by the Zimbabwean government is a sign that the country is taking a proactive approach to regulating cryptocurrencies.
